Family and Disability Program
There are so many children in Uganda who have disabilities and significant medical needs that are incredibly hard and expensive to care for. The goal of the Family and Disability Program is to keep these children in healthy families. In order to do this, Okoa comes alongside families to partner with them in ensuring a healthy environment for raising the child and supporting them in the specific needs to help the child thrive.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Currently, over 60 children are enrolled in the Family and Disability program. With your help, we can continue providing hope and healing to many more!
What do we provide through our F&D program?
- Surgical costs for certain cases
- Parental education and vocational training
- Medication and therapy
- Parenting classes and counseling
- Assistive devices and specialty medical supplies
- Opportunity for community with other families
- Ongoing counseling and holistic support
OKOA'S NEW PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTER
In honor of Dr. William N. Campbell, Okoa’s Rehabilitation Clinic and Physiotherapy Center exists to bring hope, healing, and dignity to those with disabilities and their families. This new clinic that opened in 2024 is already creating a huge impact in Masaka by providing free physiotherapy services to children with disabilities. We are hopeful that in the future we can open up many more clinics to provide these vital services for those who need it most!
